1985
- ResComp was started
1986
- Mosher Jordan Pilot Project
- Resident Staff loaned Macintosh computers and modems
1987
- Mary Simoni hired as first Director of ResComp
- Procedures, policies, position descriptions first created
- Classes taught in MTS and MacWrite
1988
- Tour de Mac starts to take shape
- South Quad resident staff rooms wired for phonenet
1989
- Tour de Mac courses are joined by other classes in e-mail, word processing, etc.
- The rest of resident staff get phonenet for in-room connectivity
1990
- ResComp loses $300,000 in operating budget from ITD for 1991-1992 school year
1991
- Sites go to 24-hour cardreader access
- Monitor position is replaced by Consultant position
- RCSC position is tested out at Mosher Jordan by Bill Cosnowski
- Hard drives installed on site computers
1992
- Alice Lloyd, Baits, Bursley, Couzens, East Quad, Markley, Newberry, South Quad, Stockwell, and West Quad all get RCSCs in response to the successful RCSC pilot program in Mosher Jordan, MoJo retains an RCSC. Trainer positions are subsequently eliminated
- Deb Clancy leaves ResComp
- One half of resident staff receive Classic II computers in place of their old Mac Plus computers for loan
1993
- Jeff Wright becomes Computer Systems Specialist/Consultant. CSC position replaces Administrative Assistant position
- Other half of resident staff receive Classic II computers in place of their old Mac Plus computers for loan
1994
- RCSCs get PowerMac 7100s for their loaned computers
- Bursley and Baits I & II get in-room ethernet connectivity
- Dino Anastasia replaces Mary Simoni as Director of ResComp
- The South Quad Information Resource Center opens
1995
- IRC Consultant position created
- Resident staff receive Performa 6115 computers
- Markley, South Quad, East Quad, Barbour & Newberry get in-room ethernet connectivity
- RNST and SRNST positions created
- Jim Gowell is hired as Coordinator of the Residential Ethernet program
- Jeff Wright leaves ResComp
1996
- Dino Anastasia leaves ResComp to become manager of ITD Campus Computing Sites
- Steve Sarrica hired as Assistant Director, appointed Director two weeks later
- Terry Melman hired as Assistant Director
- Sevanne Demirjian hired as full time temp office assistant for Ethernet program
- World Tour replaced by Computer Kickoff
- RNST becomes NST, SRNST becomes SNST
- Ethernet wiring of Fletcher, Oxford, STockwell, Alice Lloyd, Couzens, and West Quad finished
1997
- Jeff Gedeon fills new 12th RCSC position created to serve Martha Cook, Fletcher, Oxford, Trotter House, and Henderson House
- Alice Lloyd site moved and expanded
- Baits site air conditioned, expanded, and renovated
- Assistant Director position eliminated
- Network Technician (CSS II) position created
- Sara Staebler joins ResComp in Network Technician role
- Power Macintosh 5400 and 5500 computers trickle in to the resident staff loan program
- Major reorganization initiated
1998
- Ethernet self-registration system implemented
- Ethernet self-scheduled appointments introduced
- NST appointment availability times entered into self-scheduler for residents
- ResComp TV begins broadcasting network system status
- RCSCs responsible for clearing network phone message for their building
- Senior Consultant position created in the eight largest halls
- Couzens site expanded and air conditioned
- Bursley site gets new carpet, paint, furniture, and additional workstations
- Oxford site gets new furniture and additional workstations
- Fletcher site gets new carpet paint, furniture, air conditioning, and workstations
- CAEN workstations added in Bursley, Markley, Couzens, and Mosher Jorden
- iMacs purchased for resident staff computer loan program
1999
- Trotter House gets a new site
- West Quad site gets new paint and furniture
- 134 iMacs purchased for the resident staff computer loan program. The last Performa 6115s are sent to Property Disposition
- ResComp participates in GartnetGroup IT study for Housing
- Elizabeth Loesch becomes new IT Director, hired to run a merged computing organization for all of Housing (HITO - Housing Information Technology Office)
- ResComp and OIS merged into new HITO organization
